PASSERIFORMES: Pycnonotidae
Pycnonotus jocosus
My wife Michelle and I were driving along a narrow dirt track in farmland just north of Windsor when this fledgling flew out of a bush, bounced off the side of the car and flew back into the bush.
We then had the pleasure of watching attentive parents coax it over to another large bush from where it took more flying lessons.
As it made flights away from the bush the parent birds would quickly fly alongside it and steer it back to the bush. Probably to avoid further traffic accidents.
